This notebook has a 15.6-inch TFT show with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels (native 720p for high-classification viewing). Jump Lists
New in Windows 7, Jump Lists take you right to the ID, pictures, songs, or websites you turn to each day. To open a Jump List, just right-click a program icon on the Windows 7 taskbar. (You’ll also find them on the Start menu.) What you see in a Jump List depends entirely on the program. The Jump List for Internet Explorer 8 shows frequently-viewed websites. Windows Media Player 12 lists commonly-played tunes. Your Jump List missing a favorite? You can “pin” whatever files you like there. Jump Lists don’t just show shortcuts to files. Sometimes they also provide quick access to orders for things like composing new e‑mail messages or playing composition.
Improved Windows Taskbar
In Windows 7 you can “pin” favorite programs anywhere on the taskbar for simple access. Not crazy about the icon lineup? Now you can rearrange them any way you like by clicking and dragging. Finally, there are new ways to preview windows. Top to a taskbar icon to see a thumbnail preview of open files or programs. Then, go your mouse over a thumbnail to preview the window full-screen. You can even close windows from the thumbnail previews–a huge time saver.

As an ardent Mac person, I regretted the need to buy a PC for work. Chose to see what was available cheap and looked at this model. Couldn’t judge that you may possibly buy a decent computer for this price and feared it would be fragile and junky. Chose to give it a try anyhow, knowing that Amazon backs up their stuff.
Right out the box it turned out to be very attractive and substantial, with a full keyboard and excellent screen. Set-up was a matter of checking a few boxes when the thing came on and it was ready to go, Got it networked in about a minute, I feared how much time it would take getting rid of all the junk that’s usually installed on PCs, but this model had very small and it was simple to uninstall.
Windows 7 was a delightful surprise. Nearly Mac-like in its simplicity and speed. It looked enough like previous versions of Windows so it was simple to use from the start. It wasn’t constantly interrupting me for updates and bug fixes as Outlook did!
Its a joy to use, with a responsive keyboard and very clear help screens. With bounty of RAM for a machine this size and a excellent processor, I expect years of excellent service from this inexpensive model
Does not have that sturdy feel on the keyboard (the plastic on the keyboard seems lightweight compared to my husband’s higher priced HP) but otherwise solid and it is fantastic for the price and for the average home user. I like Windows 7 too.
I bought a new Toshiba L455-s5975 for $360.00 out the door on e-bay.I’ve owned it for 3 weeks.It works Fantastic and quick.It feels solid. The keys are fantastic also.Very bright,nice screen.The only small problem I found is the sound may possibly be a small louder,but ok.For the money it’s Fantastic.
The Toshiba is simple to use and is user friendly. The only down side is that there is no printed user’s manual, you must go to the website to find what you are looking for and that can be cumbersome. Other than that is does all that I question of it.
TOSHIBA laptops are fantastic anyhow, so we’re reasonably pleased with what this puppy can do. It would’ve been nice if it did had a build-in camcorder for skype.
