Let me start by saying I do technical support for their livelihood. There are two things you must know about anti-virus software I have to clarify on a daily basis: 1. It is not perfect. This means that if you barely know how to turn on your computer, it will hold your computer hostage. Yes, they hold your computer hostage for ransom in the amount of new subscriptions compte.Si you know what not to download and what is OK to download, you do not need software Anti-virus. If you have no thought what a “Active X control, then you really have no way of knowing if you need it to function, or even download it first. I bought NAV 2009 on Amazon in March 2009 and was very pleased with the price, shipping and product functionality. In June 2009, the IPS NAV function stopped working (a insignificant component) due to an update of FireFox. It took one month for Norton to resolve this problem in part because FireFox maintained their versions during the same period. Norton responded by updating my NAV2009 NAV2010 to free. I use XP SP3 and have had no viruses or any other incident since the installation of NAV2009 and NAV2010 update. I do not detect any slowdown in my system. I like this book very much and have renewed my subscription for one year. I also have Norton Ghost and backup frequently. If a virus should go I know that a restoration of backup is available. I bought the Norton Antivirus 2010 because I’d had before, last year. This is an “all in one” which includes antivirus, anti spyware protection bot and browser protection. The package seems to work very quietly and can catch most problems. They are pretty excellent about consumer support to some extent……. so it’s excellent nouvelles.Les terrible news is if you receive a new virus that they do not recognize, they will not help you and to my amazement, they may suppress the virus for an superfluous $ 99! If I had to pay the premium price that would have Notron pay for this kit, I would not “bite” because of the practice above. And if I had buy another package to remove something that they would not do in their package.
