The software was simple to load onto my Sony Vaio netbook, as I may possibly not use a CD. No problems getting rid of the previously loaded anti virus software.
No problems with the day to day use.
I recommend this product.
I bought this software because it was advertised as “runs silently in the background without slowing down your PC.” Netbooks generally have limited resources (1GB RAM for example), so I was pleased to see McAfee offer a product designed to work within the store limits of a netbook. But, on the latest generation Dell Mini 10 – (“1012″ model – 450 processor, 1GB RAM) – the product persistently uses 50% of CPU, thereby making web browsing impossibly slow. The CPU employment remains at 50% for hours, endlessly, even after initial scan is completed and even persists with real-time access scanner disabled and no other applications running. My advice – don’t judge the hype: this is not a product designed for new Netbooks – look elsewhere for a web security solution.
I bought this item and to my amazment there was no CR-Rom in the box, it turns out that McAfee is selling the thought that you buy a card and then you go to there web notice you entren the number on the card and then download the software, and they keep the software you don’t have a hard copy of the sofeware on CD-Rom for encase say for example your hard drive crashes and you need to re-install the anti-virus software, or you upgrade your O/S software and if you have a slow Iethernet have fun downloading it. Then it doesn’t even tell you how many times you can use that card before you can’t, and, no ware on the box does it say NO CD-ROM, as I said if you like feeling that you can use the card in the box once then it is fee city, them buy all means buy this product delight in.
This is a nice blog i must say, usually i don?ˉt post comments on others?ˉ blogs but want to say that this post really forced me to do so!
