I bought a new HP Deskjet 3050A All-in-One Printer (J611g), and I want to configure it with the campus wireless network (let’s call the SSID “UNIVERSITY”). My Macbook can connect to the wifi just fine (there is no password, but we have to register our devices (both mobile devices and computers) by our student IDs). The printer says it’s connected, but can’t connect to the internet. The report it prints out says that the SSID I have selected (“UNIVERSITY”) has more than one access top/wireless router. I do not have access to the physical router (obviously), so can someone tell me how to set up my wireless printer by wifi? I found a temporary solution which is to print wirelessly by a peer-to-peer network, but this prevents me from browsing the internet while printing because I need to switch to the P2P network to print.

Excellent question, but a hard one to answer. I do not know how the network at your university is set up and so I cannot give you an accurate answer. My best advice would be to talk to someone of power on campus and have them direct you to someone who can help you on campus. Such as a tech person or network administrator. Best of luck to you!

I have everything I reflect I need as far as hardware is concerned. I have the processor, mobo, RAM, vid card, etc. I have a 10,000 RPM SATA harddrive with about 50 Gigs of space.

Now here are my questions:
1. Will i need more than 1 harddrive to host multiple servers?
2. If not, how do I config the harddrive to accomodate multiple servers?Do I need to partition?
3. Will I need a router even even if the servers are a part of one machine?

Thanks

Although you can install multiple game servers on your machine, I highly doubt you can have them all running at the same time.

Your constraints will be processing power, reminiscence and bandwidth of the network connection(s).

I would install each game server on its own partition.

My ancient CDMA PCMCIA (54mm wide rectangular) card does not fit into my new Dell Notebook that has an L-shaped Express Card slot. Is there an “external” solution – if so where do I get it and how much would it cost?

Answer by Apprentice 9018
I own 3 Dell Notebook PCs that all have built-in WiFi.

FYI I am able to only use my PCMIA WiFi adapter (Belkin Pre-N Notebook WiFi Card #F5D8010) on my older Dell Latitude D800 and I do so and keep it as a backup supplemental WiFi bec the reception is terrific.

I also have two other external WiFi adapters: (i) Linksys Wireless G USB Network Adaptor with Speedbooster WUSB54GS I originally bought for my 1st Notebook PC, Gateway Pentium IV. It would easily work via USB with my 2 newer DELL Notebooks: Inspiron E1505/6400 and my wife uses a Latitude D620 that are both only a year or so ancient but my daughter uses it in her upstairs bedroom to connect it to her Sony Vaio Pentium IV desktop so what I went out & bought/use as a supplemental WiFi backup for my 2 newer Dell Notebook PCs bec one had the L-shaped Express slot was Linksys Wireless-N USB Network Adapter WUSB300N.

Hope the Above Info Helps and Best of Luck

My computer is still functioning but I have some annoying malware installed. Also, I already have Norton 360 but whatever it is have disabled it from working by the book.

Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware are the best anti-spyware applications available (you can have more than one). Other free anti-spyware programs would be Spybot Search & End, Adaware, AVG Anti-spyware (formally Ewido), A-squared, Spyware Terminator and SpywareBlaster.

I fervently recommend by FireFox, it’s a far better and safer alternative to Internet Explorer. If you add-on McAfee SiteAdvisor, it will warn you of potentially harmful sites. I also recommend CCleaner which is a free system optimization and privacy tool.
