What is the best Internet Security software? Bitdefender 2012, Kaspersky 2012, Norton 2012?

Hi I am now by Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 but it is about to expire so I am looking if it is the best Internet Security software out now. I have looked at many reviews online including AV-Tests and several others and the top three that I can pick up are Bitdefender, Kaspersky and Nortons and I can’t choose which one to get? Delight help I just need it for my laptop. I don’t really care about the price I just want the best Internet Security software out right now.

Also If you may possibly delight clarify what the difference is between Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and Kaspersky PURE? I’ve heard that PURE uses ancient technology but has a few more features, is that right or is there a newer version of PURE which is everything like Internet Security plus more?

My husband is a computer tech, and he always installs AVG Free on his clients machines after he works on them. It’s free and in 8 years, we have NEVER had a virus.

Does my HP Color Laser reset the page count every time I install new ink?

I have an HP Color Laser 2605dn. I installed some terrible (cheap) toner and got terrible consequences. I just bought 4 new toner cartridges. Does the printer keep track of the ink used? I want to install all of the new ink but I’m worried it will count from the last time it was empty. Does that make sense?

My BIOS got corrupted on my HP dv2000 laptop, can HP fix this?

Just recently, I’ve been having problems with my Dv2000 overheating, end off on it’s own and a week ago, the screen on my Dv2000 just went perfectly blank (w/ the backlight still on & CPU still running).

I had a friend with excellent PC knowledge check it out and he concluded that it was perhaps a virus that corrupted the BIOS of the laptop, causing my screen not to show up.

Just wanted to make sure if that would be a valid reason for my screen going blank on me? And also, if I were to send this HP for repair.. would they be able to do it? And if I am under warrantly, would it be free?

Would appreciate all the help I can get on this! Thanks a lot.
Lastly, I got this laptop from Costco around February of 2007.. so along with the 90 days they give you to return it, they offer a 2 year warranty on it..

I’m not sure if I still have the box for the Dv2000.. I reflect I still have original receipt when I bought it.. but how would I go about carriage my laptop back to HP?

If you are still within warranty I would consider carriage to get fixed. But if your computer friend knows how to fix the problem, see if the/she can. I do not know much about how to fix the bios, but I do know that means your computer is broke if it is corrupt.

How can I protect my computer from viruses & spyware/adware?

What is the best way to protect my computer from viruses adware, spyware, etc.? I want my computer to be like Fort Knox! How can I get educated on this to protect myself & my family while on the computer?

well nothing is 100% secure.
best options are tooo……..
make sure you have window updates (reboot after and defrag excellent option also)
get a excellent firewall, zonealarm is agreat choice has a free version

for spyware protection
spybot s&d
www.safer-networking.org
adaware
www.lavasoft.com
both are free, get them up todate and do full scan, they update weekly or more often so check for updates often
as for anti-virus
many on here will push avast or avg . both are gree and ok but have there faults
i would go with kaspersky

When I view email a spy ware ad interupts. How can I get rid of it?

The spyware ad states the only way to get rid of the problem is to hold their software. I downloaded “Trojan Removal”, “Trojan Killer”, and an anti-spyware from C/Net. But, this did not fix the problem.

Download HiJackThis! from http://download.hijackthis.eu/HJTInstall.exe then upload the log file to http://www.hijackthis.de/en and to http://hjt.networktechs.com/ it should tell you which files you need to get rid of.
