I have an HP pavilion w/windows XP. It’s been running abnormally slow, even at startup. The sound is also choppy and delayed. I have tried to restore it (doesn’t work), cleaned my registry, ancient programs, etc. I want to repair the operating system but don’t have a recovery disc. Supposedly my computer includes a recovery feature that doesn’t require a CD. Can someone delight walk me through the process of repairing my operating system? Thanks

Turn the computer on or Restart the computer
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Boot Options Menu appears. Now there should be an option to choose from to restore you PC or something like. Once you choose to restore your PC it should run you even if the process step by step and for repairing the PC you can’t as with a restore it will format and reinstall all porgrams as was from the store.

I have a Dell inspiron 1501 laptop, and my hard drive has been making these weird clicking sounds. Windows XP also refuses to strt up on my computer. What to do?

Your hard drive is shot, will not read the OS, assume that all data is lost, hold a new hard drive, reload XP and programs and start all over again. REload data if you have backed up disk. But you disc is dead.

I do computer training and I am very knowledgeable of Microsoft Office 2003, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. I saw a demo version of Microsoft Office 2007, specifically Excel and Word and it looks way different. The menu options have changed, etc. I really don’t have the money to go out and buy an upgrade to the latest version just for the heck of it but I force have to.

Is it just a matter of getting familar with where things are and how they work in Office 2007, or will I have to retrain myself on everything again?

All the same functionality is there, they’ve just integrated all the menus into the Ribbon at the top of the screen. So instead of menus you click on a different tab of the ribbon and all the same options and features are there.

Its stuck-up to 2003 once you get used to it. It doesn’t take more than a week to exchange.
