I have a Gateway notebook Laptop. Here is the circumstances. My laptop came down with a lot of viruses and annoying software that would just keep coming back. So my friend said that she would restore the computer, and that it would erase all the annoying software and viruses that were on it. As she was restoring the computer, my laptop died because it wasn’t fully exciting. Therefore it blacked out, went off into “outer space” and wasn’t working for sometime. A week later, it went back to normal. But, I may possibly not connect to the internet, unless it was connected to a wireless router. Before this all happened, my Laptop may possibly just pick up a wifi signal, and I may possibly connect.
Anyways, I just stopped by my laptop for about two months, When I turned it on, the windows outlook software program had expired, luckily I had a back-up cd, and was able to reinstall the program. Nonetheless, I still can’t get any wifi. Can any of you give me an explanation to why this is happening and the steps I can take to get it working again? I am a poor institution student in need of a fully functioning laptop. Would a computer repair shop be of any excellent use?

Possibly the wi-fi network you are talking about it hidden. If so you may just need to manually place the network name and password into the computer wherever it should go.
