.

my external hd became unreadable/corrupt and windows couldn’t access it. So someone suggested i run chkdsk f: /f .
I’ve done that but the command window says:
Corrupt master file table. windows will attempt to recover master file table from disk.

Its been like that for nearly 1hour. The drive is 1tb, will it take much longer? There is no indication as to how long is remaining (or if its even doing anything). After how long should I consider it to be hung/frozen?

How to remove strong spyware and key loggers?

.

Okay, I have a MONSTER who is enjoying messing around in my computer. For the last few months, he(and I’m sure it’s a he) has been changing the password on my computer. Before anyone says anything about my choices of passwords, THEY’RE NOT EASY TO CRACK. I mix captials, lower cases, AND numbers but he still gets in at least once every 2 weeks. My ISP spyware removal doesn’t help. Is there any FREE software that will work on fixing this problem of mine for excellent so he won’t be able to keep doing this? I don’t need a “free scan”. I need something that will remove any and all traces of him from my computer. The software I’ve used so far which hasn’t been much help: Spybot Search And End, Super Anti Spyware, and Ad Aware.
Simba: I already have a firewall that’s paid for, would a free firewall such as ZoneAlarm be better then one that’s paid for?

Just Me: If I had enough superfluous dough to emergency, I wouldn’t be here asking for help.

Try putting characters into your password too btw, adds many years to the time it takes to guess the password.

Also, try by a firewall. A excellent free firewall is ZoneAlarm. With a firewall he will have a he11 of a time just getting past that, then he has to map out your password. This is enough to deter all but the most professional hackers.

Excellent luck

Just coming back onto some cube work for the first time in 12 months or so, and managed to get myself confused by the AverageOfChildren semi-additive aggregation type, just like I did the first time round :-/

(Aside: AverageOfChildren is a semi-additive average: it sums over all dimensions except time, and averages over time. This makes sense (for example) if you want to equate average monthly sales over the year for each of your branch offices. It’s a waste of time, but, when you want to know the average sale price per unit)

Whilst making calculated measures of the type [Measures].[Something Sum] / [Measures].[Something Count] is all very well, I don’t know why this isn’t just supported out of the box, as a native Average aggregation type. Sure there are always ‘flavours’ of averages that need point MDX (weighted averages for example), but surely the simple flat average over row count is so common as to warrant ‘out of the box’ support.

You force say having two ‘average’ aggregations would confuse, but AverageOfChildren causes bounty of confusion on it’s own: having two (and documentation on which to use when) would probably make the circumstances considerably better.

Fool me twice: shame on me.
