I knocked over 1/4 can of coke and some of the liquid landed on my external hard drive (Maxtor 1TB Basics Desktop). I have removed the case and cannot see any liquid, except on the plastic casing (not the drive itself), but my computer is not recognizing the device when connected. What can I do to try and recover it?

You may have shorted out the electrical parts on the case itself. At his top I would get a proper connector (IDE or SATA) and attach the drive to your computer that way.

This is what I use to connect a drive to another computer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812156102

Hope this helps.

HP printer ink — cheaper option?? refill? help!?

.

I bought an HP printer 2 weeks ago and I am already on the third black ink cartridge. My mom is a teacher and likes to copy stuff at home. I also go to school online and print out a lot of stuff.

I know HP ink costs a lot. I called the company and they ‘warned me’ about by other brands (on ebay) or refilling a cartridge. Is it really terrible to use a cheaper brand on ebay or refilling?
If I get the HP xl cartridge, it will cost me and I would probably go through it in two weeks.

I had a brother printer (despised it), but the ink was cheap.
Delight help
The printer I have is the HP OfficeJet J6480

why doesnt your mom print at the school office or photo copies there?

For your ink problem try refilling.

Well I took my HP Compaq laptop to a computer repair guy because the computer would not charge or turn on. He told me that my motherboard was shot. I’ve been thinking about switching over to a Mac and was wondering if I bought a new Macbook if my ID, pictures, and composition may possibly be transferred to the new computer. Mac says they can transfer your info to a new computer but can this be done with a broken motherboard?

Best answer:

Answer by computeranswers
Yes, the motherboard does not affect the contents of your hard drive… But your ID and composition and such because you are running on Windows may not be compatible with the mac OS…. You also need to make sure that the hard drives are the same or that you buy a USB drive to transfer stuff from the PC to the Mac….

Hope This Helps!

How to create a company for a software product?

.

I really have no thought how that works and I just wrote a computer program that I want to sell but I don’t want to place my name but a company name on the EULA and all that stuff, so how and what’s the cheapest way to make a company, or whatever I can officially place on all the legal stuff instead of my name? Do I need to register a Trademark or is a Company name enough, or are they the same? I just have no thought and no money so I just need the basics to start selling my product with some legal protection.
@Alex Ray: Did you even read my question? I said I already wrote it.

You need computer programmer who can write professional computer software programs for you. If you want to develop it by yourself you will need to learn VB.NET or Visual Basic language which are simple for software development. You can use Sql as database for the back end support.

Super anti spyware won’t open!?

.

My super anti spyware won’t open along with my Malware antibytes.

Also, everytime i search with google it redirects me to a different page.

Whats going on!!

Best answer:

Answer by Nick
This is a sample of malware called “Trojan.DNSChanger” this is a virus and is considered a rootkit/adware. Malwarebytes usually gets rid of this, but since it can’t open it you should go into a bootable environment (or try something that will open) and scan for viruses from there
