Is the Lenovo Think Pad T60 still good?

.

I was wondering if this ancient laptops are still excellent in this day of age. My Compaq laptop kinda broke down recently and I plot on buying a new 1 soon. I heard alot of excellent things about it and found a refurbished for 200 bucks. The specs are similar to the 1 I have except I have 1.5gbs of ram and 360GB hard drive, better graphics card i reflect. I don’t plot on playing heavy games on it. I will mostly go on Youtube, MSN, Flash games and such.
Hmm . . . I just found out the dell latitude. It has the similar specs with the Thinkpad. They cost the same. . . I’m not a fan of dell but are these par with this laptop?

The Lenovo Thinkpad T60 is an EXCELLENT machine.
The T series is quick, robust and will continue to work just fine for many years to come!
If there would be one downside, it would be that it is not a T61 (which is the wide-screen variant)
Keep in mind that this laptop is a 4:3 model.
Apart from that, I have had the T60 model for 3 years at work and I’m sad I had to give it up.

Give your answer to this question not more than!

Okay this laptop is really over my budget but since you can pay monthly i can pull it off. I’m looking for a excellent gaming laptop (such as being able to run the new Star Wars The Ancient Republic smoothly.) I’m sure a lot of people are going to tell me to build my own computer, but I don’t trust myself doing it, so I’m looking for a pre-built gamers laptop. Thanks!

…Ok, I am thinking about building one now that I’ve looked it up a bit. I want to get most the parts within 4 months, so it needs to be not more than 0. Even lower preferably. Delight list High-quality cheap parts I’ll need. If you can, also tip me on how to go about building it, because I’m virtually clueless. A youtube video or something would also be fine. I’m still open to suggestions about pre-built laptops even if.

You would have more fun building a pc yourself
I, like many others, built my PC and had much more fun customizing it than buying a laptop.
Without buying anything, you need to reflect of your operating system. Here are the 3 oses that are in working order:
1. Windows XP
2. Windows Outlook
3. Windows 7
NOTE: there are various other oses by the linix kernel not built-in, but they have no game support without installing WINE software.
WinXP
Pros: Cheaper than the other oses. Stable(nearly no crashing), simple to learn, not hardware-intensive,etc
cons:Ancient, support will end on april 14,2014( You wont get updates).
summary: If your low on assets when it comes down to your os, choose windows xp.
WinVista
Pros: cheap but not as cheap as xp, new GUI( Graphic User Interface), comes in both 32 and 64 bit(XP did but it had horrible compatibility issues)
Cons: Not very excellent stability, VERY hardware-intensive( You need high end hardware to run outlook), support ends next year for home premium
Summary: If you cant find a version of xp or 7, this will do for a while[They most of the problems in sp(Service Pack) 2.]
Win7
Pros: the newest version( Support will last longer), Better than outlook, new GUI, lower requirements than outlook.
Cons: The different versions( Home premium, pro, ultimate) get people confused, The new taskbar is kind of confusing( If you used a windows os before this one)
Summary: This version is the most expensive (Starting price:0 for home premium OEM)but also the second best.

The following is what im going to place into my computer to run 7:
CPU: Intel Pentium D 3.0 GHZ
Motherboard: Intel desk board
Hard Drive: Western digital 120 gb sata drive
DVD drive: Samsung Dvd-RW
power supply: 450 WATTS

A few things you need to know to get started:
Parallel ATA and SATA is diffrent reminiscence formats. Parallel ATA uses an IDE cable to connect to the motherboard, while a SATA drive uses a SATA cable to connect.

There are a few case ( the tower that holds the parts) form factors. Most people use last generation ATX form factor but the new ( and cheaper ) one is Micro Atx has more parts for It.

SATA drives are cheaper and quicker than parallel ATA drives. A SATA 1TB sata drive is 70 bucks.

There are different CPU sockets that fit a cpu. The Pentium d im going to use is only compatible with the LGA775 socket.

The huge CPU makers are intel and AMD.

Me and my girlfriend recently went, we have had the printer hooked up before and it worked fine. Now that we’ve went out, the printer won’t connect to our wireless Internet connection. Do we need to re-install something? We have a HP deskjet 3050 wireless printer. We also have a windows desktop computer and my girlfriend’s MacBook pro.

When you went, you unplugged the router and wireless printer. In so doing, you may have reset the router and/or printer back to its defaulting settings. You need to get them to communicate with each other again by ensuring that the SSID (network name) and WEP or WPA key (passcode) in the router match with the same information in the printer. To do this, you have to log into your router and get this network information. Then you have to go to the printer and enter this information (SSID and key) into the printer as well. In other words, the router and printer settings need to match. If you aren’t technical at all, get a friend to help you, or call tech support. For example, you may possibly call Linksys to learn how to access your router (if you use a Linksys router), and you may possibly call HP to learn how to plug the corresponding network information into your printer.

Excellent luck.

Spybot – Search & End detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to make a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven’t intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been “hijacked” (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don’t see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.
