You may possibly just place tape on the connector to hold it down (preferably electrical tape that doesn’t conduct electricity) as long as its only the black latch and not an actual connector. A new motherboard for the inspiron 1750 will cost at least $200
Its impossible iv tried everything but the zif clip holds the ribbon down my girlfriends brother took the laptop to dry it at his an when i got the laptop back he said the keyboard is broken but when i went to clean out trapped dust from the heat sink i took alook at the keyboard and noticed he’d taped it back on so i place pressure on the ribbon and the keyboard works fine just the keys are sticky.
I perfectly disasemble the laptop a few month before fix the case and the screen and I couldnt get the thing back on to fiddley so tried alternates such as taping the ribbon into place and padding it down so the keyboard applies pressure and on one half of the keyboard worked so finished up puttin the zif clip back on it took ages but managed and it worked it makes the connection so tight nothing else will make the connection so tight im hoping that he hasnt thrown it as it will save alot of money i reflect he force of had the same problem with getting it back on and thought it was broken, otherwise il be looking for a broken 1525 on the net.
