Is laptop and PC repair reasonably similar? Is it possible to learn laptop repair on your own, only through online videos etc? Is it a excellent thought to buy a cheap laptop to do experiments. What tools(if any) do I need to buy to be able to do laptop repairs? Delight also suggest me some useful websites which teach laptop repair by video tutorials.

Laptop repair is alot more complex, due to the amount of items that have been “resized” or “compressed” into such a small area, in order to make it portable. Because of this, you will any need to find a very large laptop, otherwise you will not be able to gain access to about 70% of the Laptop. And because most of the chips, and graphics cards, network cards etc. are soldered onto the motherboard, you must have very precise hand skills, otherwise you will most likely stuff up the mobo.
And if you are doing laptop repairs, you will need a philips screwdriver (magnetic) with some pliers, and some boxes to hold screws in. And if you are ready to do hardcore dissembling, you will have to buy a soldering gun.

It depends,
Laptops are a lot more proprietary than desktops. This means that the vary in layout and options more from vendor to vendor. You can’t just open them all up the same way.
But, experience and investigate is the only real place to get knowledge outwith getting a support job at dell or something.
Mostly you only need a screwdriver set for changing the RAM, CPU, hard disk, cd/dvd/BD drive. etc.
if you are not getting power to turn on you may need a soldering iron, a new battery, or it may possibly be the MOBO itself.
again a new mobo must be exactly the same to fit in the case of the original laptop model. usually its just not worth it instead of buying a newer one.
