Can I use an inverter from a different computer (Toshiba for example) on a dv1000? has anyone done anything like this before….successfully? I am trying to use the inverter from my ancient computer in my new computer which doesn’t work

Yes, you can. As long as the connector fits (or you swap them by splicing) and the power supplies are pretty close to the same voltage you are fine.
