I can tell you’re frusterated. The first we must do is take a deep breathe and cool down. Know that our computer will be fine.
After that, we now have a few options.
A) remove the fake anti virus (internet security 2010 IS really a virus that’s trying to steal your credit card info. Do NOT give it any of that) with a REAL anti virus. Then you will have your computer back.
or
B) reinstall the operating system (Windows). Doing this will make it like the day you got it. But if you don’t back up your data on to an external Hard drive, your data will be lost. This is also more time consuming.
I would suggest option A. Here is how to do both, just in case.
A) go to avg.com/free and download the FREE version of AVG. Do not get the for pay, premium versions. You don’t need them. Download and install AVG. Then open up AVG and run a virus scan. It should find the fake anti virus and kill it. You are now done.
going with option B.
B) Find and insert the recovery CD your computer came with (if you don’t have this CD you are out of luck). Follow the instructions to reinstall windows. This will wipe your computer completely clean of everything: windows, personal data, viruses, etc. It will then reinstall windows.
Delight note that option B is more for the tech savy “computer person” who has a excellent thought of what they’re doing. If this is not you, I suggest you chalk it up as a loss and take it into a professional place (NOT GEEK SQUAD). Try a local computer repair place. Huge name stores tend to charge much more for the same service when it comes to these things.
