make a domain and have your xp computers join it
make your server 2003 the domain controller and go into your security policy. set that up how you like… place the programs that you wish to share out in it.
make your ou’s and such… have fun!

If you want use one software on server and your users will use it on clint than you must be use an Domain networking.
For it You must be install Server 2003,
and your clint also should be well in performance.
Now Exchange your Server in Domain Control with running Command dcpromo.
and join all the clind in this domain.
Now all work you do on server that
open user manegement or run dsa.msc
and make a new OU(Organigation Unit) and here select your software what you . and go your all users in this ou.
see now they are enjoying .
