I have EPU Six Engine. It says when I turn it to auto mode “set EPU Six Engine Mode to Turbo Mode before by Tweak It”. I don’t use tweak it but I assume I have EPU Six Engine since it mentions it in this small pop up message whenever it is set to auto or I place my cursor over the system tray Icon.

But… it has in the program 4 icons. CPU, VGA, HDD and FAN. Now The CPU is lit, VGA (Video Card is not), HDD is lit, and FAN which I assume is the CPU cooler (3rd party heatsink/CPU Cooler)is lit as well. Although when I went on to the website to map out why VGA is not lit, it says EPU Engine Six, deals with Reminiscence and Chipset as well… those 2 icon/boxes are not even shown in the EPU Engine section.

Why is the video card management not working? The light is not lit. It says on their website, get Smart Doctor, and it also says when I click the VGA icon within the EPU program VGA Card not Detected, delight install selected VGA Card, or something like that. It says get Smart Doctor, http://event.asus.com/mb/EPU_VGA and go to that link, but when I click it, it opens a page and takes forever to search and then fails.

My card is a XFX 1GB HD 4870. It has DUAL DVI, no VGA.

Also why the hell does the XFX 1GB HD 4870 Squeal! I reflect it does it while it runs, but I can’t hear it because I have a Antec 1200 and so I’m unsure if the sound is even there, but when I shut windows down, and I leave the power supply turned on and the PSU plugged in at the wall it squeals. It stops if the PSU switched it turned off (to 0) or the wall plug is taken out. I’ve heard that some high end video card capacitors squeal.

By the way regarding the ASUS EPU. My Motherboard is a ASUS Crosshair III Formula iRoG (Republic of Gamers Series) motherboard.

I will not exchange components for those of you wishing to be unhelpful and fanboys of Nvidia or other cards higher in the line, I do not wish to buy any software nor am I stupid and will end up getting something which causes more hassle than it is worth or turns out to be a virus/spam or spyware. So don’t try it.

Real help is welcome and I appreciate those who offer it. Thank you in advance.

Is SmartDoctor free for thsoe with ASUS Motherboards? I don’t want to download stuff and use it illegally.

Note: this software regards the use of hardware and configures it in real-time to alter the power of Hardware. Thus the reason this has been place in the software section. Those who know equal of both software and hardware and ASUS harvest and programs are willing to answer. Those I deem guessing are not going to get any points, nor get anywhere.

- Addition note, I have EPU Six Engine running as said before which is involuntarily adjusting the power of the CPU, HDD and CPU Fan and it is incredible, not only that but due to this the CPU temperature alters and the CPU fan alters as well. Obviously fantastic for power saving which is it’s intention.
