OEM, or Original Equipment Manufacture, software is cheaper because it is licensed to be on a new computer only.
Try http://www.newegg.com or http://www.amazon.com for excellent prices. If you’re a student or teacher, you can get a GREAT price of $59.95 at http://www.theultimatesteal.com – legit offer from Microsoft! Nice.
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM software is usually for system builders for installation on new machines. For instance Windows is available in retail and oem versions. The OEM is usually for someone who builds systems for resale and is cheaper than the Retail version. Individuals who are not system builders can also hold OEM versions but with some restrictions such as not being able to transfer the software to another computer if you upgrade to a newer computer. The retail version of Windows for instance is transferable but costs about twice as much.
