We’re running a Windows Server 2008 Standard server. Originally, we had two user on laptops by Remote Desktop to the server to use a very bandwidth intensive database attention. This used the two most concurrent relations in Windows Server 2008 without a Terminal Services license. It now became necessary to push out a RemoteApp version of the program to some clients on a VPN, for which we are obtaining Terminal Services licenses. Can the two laptops still connect to the server via Remote Desktop, or will they requires Terminal Services licenses now that the Terminal Services role has been installed?

I judge your remote users will still be able to connect but you may see licensing warnings in your event log from Terminal Services.
Did you hold per device or per user licensing? If it’s per user then it should be no problem.
