you dont really need laptops in institution get a desktop youll be set but if you want to write ID send email and stuff a cheap 300 dollar laptop will do you well.
I would say get a mac cause its quicker and honestly simple to map out, but they are less compatable with institution systems but they last longer and are just plain cooler … wish i had one but i got a hp with stupid VISTA
dell xps laptop I’m by it for about 2 years already now I’m 3rd year institution and i don’t have any problem with it its still rock and i upgraded the reminiscence to 4GB……
quality + performance = dell
You’d probably want at least 1 gb ram, so it’s not really slow while running programs or internet, a hard drive with enough space to have all the ID, programs(even composition or whatever)you may need, i would go at least 160gb hard drive, i guess any video card would be fine if you are not doing anything that demands fantastic graphics, and it would be useful to have Windows Office which has all the stuff like word, powerpoint that most likely you’ll need.
If you are thinking in buying one online, you should check out this site it shows u very detailed specs and it gives you a better thought of what u may want to get

My mom just bought this Acer laptop, and it’s small and adorable, lightweight, and it works really well. It has Windows XP, and it fits her grad. institution well. (She’s majoring in media phsychology at P.S.U.)
They’re $300 at Wal-Mart.

It comes with software the same as Microsoft Word, plus it gets 9 hours of battery life. That way, you can have it in class with you all day.
