I used a company a few weeks back called Triangle Tech Group, they are over on Glenwood across from Carmax. They replaced the motherboard in my Macbook for about 1/2 of what the genius bar wanted to charge me and it was a pretty quick turn around. They did have to order the part, but the were real nice and the price was right. The labor was 0 and the part was 0 something. Id certainly suggest giving them a call, it sounds like what you are looking for.

If the computer shows no sign of start up. First check the power cord, both ends and make sure that it is in the socket and connected to the computer. If nothing happens you may have a hard ware problem. Remove the battery and leave it out of the computer. Try again to get it to start up, if it does not you will need to take the power supply by a local repair or service shop and have it tested. If it test good
you have a hard ware problem. This type of problem calls for you to sub in parts until you find the problem. This is hard for a home user to do as you will not have the parts like hard drive, memory, cpu and other items. So you will have to take your computer in for a estimate. Local shop have lower prices and faster service than the big box stores…

I set down a magnet on my laptop(pretty strong), I rubbed it on it a little bit actually because I forgot magnets could ruin hard drives, and when I came back there was a blue screen saying my computer was damaged, and now it says it cant start because it can’t find an important file. I don’t have a recovery disk, but I can get one.

Yes. It just destroyed the data. No actual physical damage was done.

Dell XPS 15 laptops will do a better for you….

If you want to have any other brand, make sure you have,
Intel i5 processor,500gb harddrive or more, 4gb ram or more…
Check www.notebookcheck.com graphic card benchmark list and choose the card within first 100 ranked graphics card……

Well it sounds like one of the cds is just for your drivers. Normally recovery cds are one or 2 cds. The first would be the operating system and the second would be drivers and applications. Sometimes they are all together in one as well.

For example i just purchased a recent cd from http://www.newrecoverydisk.com and it was 2 cds. The first one was the oem cd for my windows 7 operating system. After i installed that the directions that came with it tells me to put in the second cd. The second cd was all the apps and drivers that came with my computer. I didn’t really want to install the other bloatware that came with my computer so i just used the default windows 7 drivers. However it seemed to have fixed my problem.

That desktop computer is pants. I’m surprised it even runs Windows Vista. It’s old, the specs are terrible compared to the laptop, the fact that it’s being offered 350 anything (even if it’s Zimbabwean dollars) is worrying.

Go for the laptop, it’s way better.
