My brother cant remember the password as its been soo long (and he really is an buffoon!) plus i cant even find the manuel etc or box that may help me with this; So i was hoping someone can tell me of a way to make it better with out spending a lot of money (sorted for free would be ideal), and i have checked a few websites (but as i aint a computer person i didnt really know what to check for) so didnt really find much except a few people saying you have to go to IBM with proof of purchase etc (which i obvisly no longer have) but these were sites/posts on sites from a few years ago, so just wondering if any computer mastermind could help me PLEASE, PLEASE.

Remove the battery, and the CMOS battery, and wait a while. That will probably not work, so you will either have to get a new motherboard, or have some one crack the password.

Try putting your windows 7 disc in and boot from that and try to do a repair.

Why on Earth would you buy one of those cheap pieces of garbage anyway? Stop being a stinge and get it refunded and buy a better laptop.

And no, it does not come with one and you have to buy it seperately for 0. I’m sorry for being rude but come on, you can do much better than damn Lenovo.

Heard of Google? Took me five seconds to find the answer, getting a decent answer for this takes roughly 15-20 minutes or even an hour. Common sense.

that is a small display, but I would assume you will be dual monitoring it with a nice big one for your photo editing

Powerful Processor: at least a 2nd generation Intel Core i5 – an i7 would be fantastic
Reason: I use demanding applications like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro (video editing program)

Storage Space: At least 500gb of space, 750gb, would be amazing!
Reason: I need the storage space for all of my music, pictures, and videos, of which I have A LOT!

Screen & Resolution: As HD as possible, and not too big, but not too small. Maybe somewhere around 15″.
Reason: The computer I currently use doesn’t have HD graphics, so when I am editing video, I can’t tell when some effects looks strange until after I have rendered and exported the video and am watching it on my brother’s laptop, which happens to have HD graphics. Does that make sense? Plus, who wouldn’t want amazing picture quality? And as far as screen size goes, I don’t want a tiny screen, but I also don’t want a huge screen that will make the laptop difficult to handle and take with me.

Portability: I want to be able to use it in any room in my house, which is why I would like a laptop instead of a desktop. It doesn’t have to be a lightweight, extremely portable laptop, just something I can easily pick up and take with me. But nothing more than 8lbs…

Type of Laptop: I want a LAPTOP, not a netbook. There’s a difference. A netbook is designed for internet and email, which I will be using, but it doesn’t have to power to run the programs I want. So I want a laptop! Although a tablet would be cool as well.

Memory: As much as possible. Nothing less than 6gb, but the highest I’ve seen is 8gb, and I’m not sure it goes higher, but at least 6gb…

Connectivity: WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, especially WiFi

Battery life: I don’t really have much of a preference. Sure, I’d like a 6 hour battery life, but if that means a less powerful processor and not much storage space or memory, then forget about it! I’d take a powerful laptop with 1 hour of battery life over a wimpy laptop with a 6 hour battery life…

Color: No preference. I know having a wider range of colors to choose from usually means a less powerful laptop, but I want a powerful laptop. So if black is all that’s available, than black is perfect (although, I really would not like a brown laptop, I don’t care much for the color brown…)

Price: I am willing to pay up to ,500 for this laptop. But the less I pay, the better. I just don’t want the low cost to affect the storage, memory, or processor…

Type of laptop: Definitely not anything from the Essentials series, Maybe a laptop from the Thinkpad series, but preferably something from the Ideapad series.
As far as Ideapad laptops go, I’d prefer something from the Y series, maybe the V series, but not from the S,U, or Z series.
And when it comes to Thinkpads, I haven’t really looked at any of them too closely. Everyone in my family has an Ideapad, except for my dad, but his Thinkpad is geared towards business, not entertainment. I would be fine with Thinkpad, as long as it meets the requirements I have laid out. But like I have said, I would prefer an Ideapad.

So yeah, if anyone could find a laptop that meets all of the requirements I have just listed, could you please give me the full model name and a link to it? That would be awesome! Thanks

The Lenovo Ideapad V460 0886-2BU has gotten 5 star reviews, check that one out or the Y560 0646-2EU model.

Did you by chance get the operating system recovery/install disc set for them ?
When plugged in using power adapter and turned on do the LED lights for plugged in, battery/charge, hard drive come on ?
Reinstall the operating system(s) using set of recovery disc made for each laptop.
The model number, serial number, operating system product key code are on stickers on bottom of the laptops.
