Sites are all garbage. Download Avast from Download.com and scan your computer. Golden and BETTER than MacAfee GARBAGE and all that other stuff. I hear Kapersky is good but I have and will always use Avast (5 years+) and I recommend it to anyone looking for antivirus software.

Updates basically daily to once every two days. Super small updates too:)

Superantispyware is a good one I personally use. (link to their site below)

Spybot Search and Destroy is another good one(I use two)

Both are free and I also recommend Avast for an antivirus. It too is free.

I think the computer isn’t connecting to the computer due to a recent removal of a Virus with BitDefender Total Security. I think the Software may have deleted something or corrupted something. Not entirely sure. I think this, because the lack of internet connectivity appeared once BitDefender rebooted my computer for a certain Trojan.

Also I cannot System Restore to an earlier time. (I don’t know why.) My Computer cannot open Registry Booster for some reason as well. Nor can BitDefender operate it services… If not obvious i can’t surf the web on the computer. (I’m on my laptop).

Basically all my problems are due to no internet, which became apparent after BitDefender Rebooted to remove a Trojan.

I’ll be monitoring this question for the next 5 days. I say this because some people don’t like answering questions, because they think I won’t pick a best answer… which is not true. Please help, Thank you in advance.

I think it’s best you start with the basics.

Check and reseat your ethernet cord(s), as well as restart your router and modem.

If this doesn’t work, you could try and uninstall BitDefender. If you then can obtain an IP address, you know the problem is with BitDefender. From there, you have the option of reinstalling it or another software application that meets your needs.

I found I had a trojan horse, which the risk is high on, and a tracking cookie, which the risk is low on, and either cannot be removed by my default security, Norton..

Try googling and see if there are any password reset utilities. MOST will cost you a bit of money to buy their software. However, I do not know if there is any freebie software out there. Like I said, you will have to google it to find out.

Malwarebytes’ Anti-malware is free, it scans for and removes malware. It has worked great for me
