Avast or Avira
ClamWin, I reflect – it’s open source too!
Avira, I’ve had it for months and it works fantastic!
I personally have fixed too many machines that had AVG on them and still got infected to recommend it. Avira used to be decent, but I’ve seen a lot of instability in it lately, and really slowing systems down.
I have recently place Avast free home journal on a few people’s machines and it seems to work reasonably well. One thing I really like about Avast is the ability to do a complete system scan during boot-up (Yes, it’ll take an hour do it, but it can find and remove many rootkit viruses that would otherwise hide from many AV harvest.)
Avast also seems pretty light on system resources.
Panda’s “Cloud” anti-virus…. but I personally don’t like it but it is the lightest of ANY anti-virus product available now. It does not store it’s own signatures but rather uses the internet (the cloud) to check suspect files against the files stored at Panda…

GOOD LUCK !!!
Avast 4.8!!..
