It mау already contain ѕοmе whеn уου first install іt, іt mау ѕау somewhere hidden іn thе installation agreement. Otherwise, іt wіƖƖ nοt download anything bυt whаt уου want іt tο. Sο whаt уου download саn include spyware аnԁ adware. Bе precise οf whаt уου download.

Frostwire as a program is clean, no spyware or other stuff. But when downloading any file you are risking a virus or other (worm, trojan, etc). Make sure your anti-virus is up to date and you won’t have a problem. I use Frostwire and have Eset at work and Norton at home and both detect any corrupt or infected files and quaratine them while downloading or when downloading is done. If you are still worried you can right click on the file when done downloading and choose to scan it with your anti-virus program.
Nothing can download without your selecting it in Frostwire (unless there are custom scripts you configure, further than my skill).
Excellent luck,
Brad.
Yes, It is reasonably possible to get the spyware and adware issues through frostwire downloading. It is highly recommended to scan the computer after downloading anything from such websites.
No.
If you’re not actively downloading something, there is no way for Frostwire to install or place malicious programs on your computer. Frostwire is just a tool to gain access to P2P networks. But YOU determine which files and software.
With that being said: filenames and software packages you download aren’t always what they seem on these networks. Because you’re downloading what other people are sharing, you may inadvertently download something malicious or infected. Many times software and songs are given away for *free* with the sole intent of tricking you into downloading a virus or some spyware.
Pro tip:
1) pay attention: if you’re downloading a program or a song, make sure the file size is appropriate. A song will usually not be under 500k, etc.
2) keep your antivirus up to date: your antivirus program should be updated once a week to ensure you’re protected against the latest threats. AVG offers a decent antivirus program for free.
3) use a reliable anti-spyware program: I recommend a amalgamation of Super anti-spyware and Spybot, Search & End.
4) close the program when not in use.
Hmm… for some reason I can’t see the whole post?
Fantastic article, I loved it!
