   avast home edition for antivirus its free and excellent

   iobit security 360 for spyware protection its free too

   norman malware scanner its free too

   pc tools threatfire free too

   thats what i use

   avg does not scan for rootkits tells you on their site

   Best one going ,, use free translation..
   edit : for full time protection, avira or avast are the best ones,, not avg free, it has no root kit protection. Bunch of peeps miss that on the download page.

   microsoft
   has urban
   a free anti virus/adware software
   that’s pretty excellent and highly rated
   even better than norton, avg, etc.

   There are three that you need-
   Avast.com free antivirus. After downloading you will need to register and
   avast will email you a key(all free), to activate for 12 months
   Malwarebytes.org free rated#1 malware/spyware removal tool
   They do offer a protection module that is tops but not having it does not
   drop the effectiveness of the software.
   Superantispyware.com free for malware/spyware removal tool
   At present time these are the best three combined together that will keep
   you safe. Excellent luck and be safe out there
