I use NOD32 for virus protection — it runs constantly — and a commercial version of Adware to kill popups and to stop tracking of cookies. I show no suspicious activity out of the run of the mill range. I have a powerful computer.
Does my slowdown lie with Microsoft software and its browser [Internet Explorer], or should I austerely reintall the Internet Explorer? I tried by a different web browser (Mozilla) but had other weird problems with that.
My ISP recently switched to me to AT&T-Yahoo, against my wishes, while I was abroad.
May possibly that have slowed me down?
Should I get a different provider?
I am at a level of dial-up modem speed despite paying for broadband service!
Thanks for any help you force give.
I am tired of paying a consultant for every bit of advice.

The last time this happened to my comp’ I pressed control alt (at the same time) then delete. It brought up what was running on my comp at the time. Not stuff I probable any. so I was able to “end programme” of the stuff that shouldn’t be running. Hope this helps.

sometimes ie cannot correctly render some XTML or SHTML. the best advice i have to offer is to switch to mozilla’s firefox browser.
you should also us housecall http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ it has found viruses that norton antivirus didn’t know existed.
click on TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > GENERAL TAB and clear your browser’s history. when the browser’s cache gets too full it can slow ie down
but the problem force be your computer or isp and not ie
I would call your ISP and question them what is going on. At the same time I would look into getting a different ISP. Did slowdown occur after your ISP switched you? If not then I would look at what the last program you installed was and start there. Hope this helps.
i reflect ur windows registry is cruppt try to repair ur windiws registry
Try the following steps : -
1. Launch Internet Explorer (henceforth referred to as IE)
2. Click on “Tools”
3. Select “Internet Options”
4. Click on “Delete Cookies”, and “Ok” in the confirmation box.
5. Click on “Delete Files”, place a check mark for “Delete all offline make pleased” in the confirmation box and click on “Ok”
6. Close and relaunch IE
Turn off your pc and modem (by cutting off the power supply) for 30 seconds and restart your modem, wait for the lights to go steady and turn on your pc.
If there is no significant improvement in the speed of your broadband connection, contact your provider and have them reset the port and / or troubleshoot for slow speed issues (judge me, there’s substance in this – I used to work for another DSL provider as Tech Support till recently)
Alternately, if all else fails, switch to another browser like Firefox (www.mozilla.org)
All the best!
