PCTools harvest do get excellent reviews. The excellent thing is they have free versions of their harvest. They work fantastic. Spyware Doctor from the Google pack is a must. I highly recommend it. I bought Webroots Spysweeper and spyware doctor finds stuff spysweeper does not. Having both is a perfect combo and I recommend running two anti-spyware harvest.

Anti-Spyware for a cost.
Personally I bought Webroot’s Spysweeper, their product is fantastic and well worth the money. Watch Best Buy ads because sometimes it goes on sale for $10 to $15.

You can try running an antivirus program in Windows safe mode (go to safe mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key on the keyboard when windows is starting up) running a scan in safe mode gives your antivirus a better chance for removing adaware/spyware. AVG antivirus is a pretty excellent free antivirus program.
1. On a clean PC, prepare a boot disk (CD or floppy) with some antivirus and antiadware tools.
2. Set BIOS on the infected PC to boot first from the disk, not HD.
3. Boot from the disk and run the antivirus tools.
4. In an extreme case, you force need to use another PC to salvage data on your HD, and completely reformat the HD. This is not trivial, as it exposes the other PC to infection; get knowledgeable help.
Some freebie tools you may have already tried:
Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool This may be run from the command prompt with command-line argument /F:Y to force complete scan and fix — may take hours.
AVG antivirus free version
Avast antivirus free version
Kaspersky antivirus free version
Spybot adware removal and immunization tool
Regrettably, no one tool works for all, and heuristic algorithms to recognize viruses are not yet reliable, so virus definitions should be updated daily.
Even so, booting from an infected disk, or visiting a site with the latest malware may still cause problems.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
