I don’t know how I got it, but I’ve got some sort of unknown spyware on my system. I’m in need of help.
I’ve had three forms of protection on my computer every since Trend Micro’s subscription ran out. They are:
Avira
Spybot – Search & End
Spyware Blaster
All free. Avira and Spyware Blaster are working fine to my knowledge. Avira is anti-virus, which means that it can’t detect or end the problem, and Spyware Blaster is just protection; it doesn’t scan or anything.
The spyware itself is blocking Spybot – S&D, so I can’t preform a scan with it. That’s the problem. Furthermore, I can’t access many antivirus websites. It’s really a pain…any other way to detect what this is and how to get rid of it?
And one more thing…when I google search, it doesn’t link to the search consequences. The consequences will pop up, but clicking on one will redirect me to sites like findstuff.com. Also annoying.
To the three that already posted:
None of those other anti-spyware programs worked any…I can’t access the main website of one, and the installer programs for the other two won’t boot up.
I haven’t tried safe mode and running Spybot – Search and End….how do I run my computer in Safe Mode?
System restore didn’t work….spyware is still there. This is terrible. -_-
Avira is gone now too.
Would it be possible to find the file and delete it manually?

two things i use both have boot scans and therefor may be your best bet. one is spybot, the other is avast. try running spybot in safemode even if, because ive had that problem myself. usually runnign in safe mode will fix it, if not under the settings you can enable a boot scan.

I had the same problem. i tried a bunch of free adware programs but eventually had to buy one.
I went with the NoAdware program. I tried their free trial and then finished up getting it. It’s only $40 and worked above and further than my expectations. you can check it out here.
