I like to use both AdAware and Spybot Search and End. Both are free for personal users, and each works a small differently. They add up to pretty decent coverage.

You should try Microsoft Antispyware, get it at http://www.microsoft.com it will be under downloads, it is free. Compleatly scan everything.
Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & End, and go to http://www.trendmicro.com for a free anti-spyware scan (you don’t download anything, it will can through your browser. It is very helpful, it removed trojans when I was attacked with malware).

First of all, you need to protect your PC with “Symantec Anti Virus”. Than down load “spybotsd14.exe” for spyware. You may possibly e-mail me if you have further questions.
ad aware, and spy bot search and end are free and excellent choices. you’ll need even more to help you, mcafee stinger, cws shredder and mcafee site advisor. all free and available at download.com. as someone else mentioned a visit to trendmicro.com and running housecall is a huge help. it will clean the majority of infections. once you’re clean download spyware doctor or webroot spysweeper. they are free to use, but won’t clean anything unless you buy them. but if you’re machine is clean it will prevent prospect infection. spysweeper in my opinion is the best.
